Don’t mind my yellow thumbnail. I made this blackhead removal mask with turmeric from Dr. Axe’s site last night. It works really well. Better than those Biore strips. But the turmeric turned all of my fingernails that came into contact with it yellow-ish. Luckily it didn’t stain my face. I’m going to skip the turmeric if I decide to make it again.
I’m currently on day 20 of my #100ketodays challenge so let’s take a look at all the things I ate on Tuesday, May 16.
I made tea with Vital Proteins collagen peptides post-gym (see above). And then I stuffed the rest of the Jilz Crackerz and a square of dark chocolate into my mouth.
I made a decadent cacao, avocado, hemp shake right before going into work.
Three superfoods in one blender. It’s all about balance. And now I know I cannot have Jilz Crackerz in my house because I’ll binge on them early in the morning. The chocolate stays though.
Looking at this picture made me realize that I forgot to add collagen to my shake. Oops. I actually do have another container of Vital Proteins in my cupboard. I also have a small container of NeoCell super collagen. Speaking of NeoCell, they asked me to take over their Instagram stories sometime in the near future because I was featured in a cookbook they co-published with Delicious Living. You guys, I have never posted an Instagram story in my life. I don’t even use Snapchat, and I have no idea where to begin. To be honest, I’m not a fan of social media. But this is something I might consider if I can figure it out.
My morning shake kept me full for a while. Which is good because I didn’t get a chance to eat lunch until around 2:30pm.
Once again, lunch was mixed greens with shredded chicken mixed with Primal Kitchen Foods chipotle lime mayo and diced green onion topped with homemade avocado oil dressing. I try to eat leafy greens at least once a day. But I’m kind of getting sick of bringing salads to work. A coworker said to me the other day, “Oh, there’s Stephanie. Eating healthy once again.” Honestly, I have no shame in eating the way I do. But I’m kind of known as the ‘salad girl’ at work. They see a salad in the fridge and they say, “Must be Steph’s lunch.”
I didn’t get to eat dinner until almost 8:00pm. But when I finally did get to eat, it was glorious.
I had a piece of flaxbread with butter while this cooked because I was super hungry when I got home from work. I didn’t have any mid-morning or mid-afternoon snacks. Not that I would have had time to eat them even if I had brought some with me. Today was crazy. I’m pretty sure it tried to snow. In mid-May. That’s just ridiculous. I officially know what the term ‘ground stop’ means at airports now. It means drop everything and take cover unless you want to be struck by lightening.
I checked my mailbox after work and found a medical bill for $235 inside. Our healthcare system is so broken. It was for a quick visit with my doctor to make sure that my itchy, watery eyes were caused by an allergic reaction and not pink eye last month. I was in his office for no more than 5 minutes and he did nothing to help me except to tell me to use allergy relief eye drops, which I was already using. This makes me never want to ever go to a doctor ever again. Ever. So there goes the money I was going to spend on a hotel and rental car in Columbus this weekend. I’ve decided not to go now. Bummed about that, but I think it’s best I save my money. Substitute teaching is not an option to fall back on after schools get out for the summer in two weeks. So I’m relying solely on my United Express income. They call it United Express in Boise so that they can pay us less. I did the math and decided that maybe I should go back into teaching next year. But I’m still on the fence about it.
